When I was sick, it seems that Spring has rapidly transformed into Summer with the temperatures outside already approaching a heat wave. Which, same as every year, leaves me with a problem of what to wear ;-) And when I looked up the current collection by Monsoon, I’ve come across some really interesting pieces. Sure, I wouldn’t wear all of them, but they do attract attention. Here are the ones I liked most, and you can find more here. Enjoy!
And I'm back again, this time unfortunately after a rather miserable break in blogging, which I've spent fighting stomach flu... But I’m better now, and sooo ready to focus on bright and cheery things!

Since we’re already talking about freshening up your wardrobe for the Spring season, here’s another tip – dresses and other clothes from my favourite and very creative Dutch brand DIDI. Here are a few pieces I love, and you can find more at www.didi.nl
This winter month is certainly a gloomy one and this city a drab one - a fact which I think could be improved a bit if more women started to wear more interesting, colourful and eye-catching clothes. In Poland, a lot of women still tend to wear blacks, dark military greens and browns - on plain surfaces and not very excitingly cut clothes. And it's a pity, especially because a lot of Polish women is very attractive and has figures worth showing off! I think part of the reason is that Polish clothing market still lacks more creative - and at the same time affordable - brands. One of these is Didi, a Dutch clothing brand I fell in love with when I lived in Holland. Their designs are extremely feminine in their curvy cuts, imaginative, original, eye-catching, figure-flattering and simply pretty. They do attract attention though, so if you wear something by Didi, you have to indeed be ready to "dare to be different" - as the company's motto states. Here are a few pieces from their last two collections, and you can find more here: www.didiwebshop.nl You know how much I like owl-shaped accessories, don't you? And since recently almost every clothing brand has come up with at least one owl-bearing item, I'd say it's not only me ;-) But to my surprise, when recently I came across a website by Aldo, a brand know majorly for its shoes, it turned out that an owl-motif has visited quite a few of their items :-) Here is a selection from their collection, and you can find more at www.aldoshoes.com . Why should't an owl become your talisman for 2011? ;-)
Only two days left till Christmas, and still so much to do - baking, cooking, cleaning, decorating and, of course, last-minute Christmas shopping. So here is an idea for those who are still desperately looking for a cute and fun gift for someone - the winter accessories line by KappAhl. They're not only pretty, but also perfect for the long and cold winter which has been ruling in Europe for over a month now. Here are my favourite pieces from the collection, and you can find more here.
It’s so cold outside that curling up at home in something warm and cosy is becoming more and more attractive ;-) So here is a suggestion for you – a few pieces of comfy and Christmas-y looking home-wear from KappAhl. It’s also not a bad idea for a present, although probably for someone you know pretty well ;-)
Remember the cute scarves from last week? I think I forgot to mention that they come in sets with equally cute, colourful and eye-catching gloves :-)
I have to admit, I never liked wearing gloves when I was a kid – actually, I loathed it - and I kept loosing them constantly, but I think that’s because there was no Accessorize available back then ;-) So if you want to turn wearing gloves into pleasure which defies hostile low temperatures, I recommend these! I’m always on the lookout for fun T-shirts, either with funny sayings printed on them or other eye-catching prints. While extremely popular in countries such as UK or USA, it’s not that easy to find one here – maybe because the English language is perfect for creating short and ingenious pieces of “T-shirt wisdom.” The same sentence translated into German would be 3 times longer, and in Polish 3 times less funny… Anyway, that’s why I was so glad to see this year’s collections of T-shirts by New Look – every few months a new range arrives in store, and you can find some really original pieces. I just had to buy the red one with the giraffe – it was a must ;-) Here are a few more examples from their website, and you’ll find more in every New Look store. Good hunting! A bag by New Look I admit openly that I have a pretty big handbag collection by now (I’m sure you’d never have guessed… ;-))), but just today I was trying on a little black dress (which I’m planning to wear to a concert this Friday) and I realized something – I do not have a little black bag to go with it. Or even anything in silver, or aged gold or black lace or, well, basically, nothing that would go well with it. So it made me think of the one place you can always go to if you need a new bag asap, and your budget for it is a limited one – New Look. Their bags might not be the best quality, but they are very affordable while at the same time trendy, quite creative and fun. Plus they always have a wide selection in-store, so you can find something for every occasion. Here are a few bags from their current collection – maybe I’ll find something to go with my little black dress? ;-) I can’t believe I’m saying this, but it’s actually getting cold. The temperature has dropped low enough for me to actually start ferreting through my closet in search of warmer clothes. A warm, woollen sweater is a perfect choice for a chilly, autumn evening. Fortunately the fall fashion collections have already appeared on the stores’ shelves, and there’s plenty of choice. Just the other day I came across quite an interesting jumper-idea by ZARA. I’m calling it an “idea” since it’s much more than a jumper; ZARA has taken the concept of an old classic – a knitted sweater with Scandinavian reindeer pattern - to a whole new level by… accessorizing it. So there’s a long, beige jumper with white reindeers, and an entire range of accessories to match – two kinds of bags, a scarf, furry gloves etc. I have to say I like the bigger bag most – but as a whole it certainly is an eye-catching fall/winter fashion statement ;-) |
